I have been the Director of a National Voluntary Sector Organisation that works with the most vulnerable people across our communities. I have also been a trustee and a founding member of London Equal Opportunities Federation. I have represented Brixton as a councillor since 1998. Throughout these years, I have put forward the views of residents and challenged the council vigorously when I feel residents have not been treated appropriately. I have done this through my surgeries, via casework and at meetings. I have held several major cabinet portfolios for the council.
