Meet Stephen Clark, the Labour Candidate for the Herne Hill and Loughborough Junction By-election

It’s a privilege to stand as your local candidate on 1 May. I moved to Herne Hill and Loughborough Junction in 2018 as a renter and have since made it my home. As a human rights lawyer, I have dedicated my career to fighting for justice, providing a voice to those who feel voiceless. I have fought for the rights of vulnerable people, including stopping the unsafe and unlawful flights to Rwanda.

I’m committed to our local community and have a track record that proves it. Last year I campaigned to keep the Carnegie Library Hub open and helped secure the new lease and additional investment.

I am determined to make a difference here and be your voice on the council – whether you live off Coldharbour Lane or by Brockwell Park, as your local councillor I will be doing the hard work to advocate for you and our fellow neighbours.

I will be your community champion.

My priorities for our area are:

  1. Investing in our community – Ensuring places like Carnegie Library and Brockwell Hall are protected for future generations.
  2. Promoting clean and healthy streets – Planting trees, rewilding our roadsides, reducing air pollution and cracking down on fly-tipping.
  3. Preventing crime and antisocial behaviour – Better partnership with local police and calling for more police officers in our area.
  4. Upgrading Loughborough Junction Station – Pressure Network Rail to install lifts in the station so everyone has access.
  5. Improving road safety – Redesigning our streets to improve road safety and making it safer to walk and cycle.

If you have any issues or questions that you would like to flag with me, you can do so via [email protected].

Thanks,

Stephen Clark
