Cllr Jess Leigh

Jess was first elected to Lambeth Council in 2018 in Ferndale Ward, between Clapham and Brixton. During this period she has served as Deputy Whip, Chief Whip and now Deputy Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing of Young People. This role spans across much of the council’s work, ensuring young people are at the heart of what Lambeth does.

In addition to serving as a Lambeth Councillor, Jess is a trustee of the London Youth Games. Set up in 1977 for the Queen’s Jubilee, this pan London competition for young people from all London Borough’s allows participation in a huge number of sports and goes on to create world class athletes and kick start’s young people’s passion for keeping healthy alike.

In her day job she works in press and broadcast, with significant experience in campaigns, elections and referenda. In order to keep up her love of sport and wellbeing, she is a regular runner, cyclist and swimmer.
