No cuts to our train service

Southern Rail have just announced plans to axe two services per hour from Streatham Common to London Victoria.

The changes, due to come into effect from next May, are currently being consulted on as part of the Transforming Rail consultation

It is vital that we let Southern know that these changes are not acceptable. We are already experiencing losses to the service as a result of the overtime ban and this has given us a foretaste of what could be in store when the new timetable comes into effect.

We endure delays, overcrowding and cancellations on a daily basis. These changes will make a bad service worse. Please take a moment to tell Southern what you think by:

  • Emailing your objections before the consultation closes on 27 July.

At the moment after 08:00 the service has already been reduced to 2 trains an hour. Having to travel to streatham or Colliers Wood to get transportation in

Due to overcrowding at Streatham Common station I often have to wait for up to 3 trains before I can even get on a train. How can axing 2 trains an hour help with this?

Please do not reduce the train service further, it has been awful for too long and this will just make it worse.

By the time the trains get to Streatham Common they are often already full to bursting. Reducing the number of trains will just exacerbate the situation.

This is ridiculous, the trains are already packed – this will be dangerous!

Is this a joke?! Trains are overcrowded already. One cancelled train causes enormous problems to be able to board the next one. If this cut happens people will not be able to comute to work!!!

I have recently moved to the Streatham Common area and bought a house, my first house. I am investing in this area as are many of my friends. Why, in this time of development and investment, would Southern cut services to one of the most popular and fastest growing areas in London??? It goes against all logic. Please, rather than cut services, look at increasing trains and improving the existing services.

Cutting the service would be a big problem.
