It's open!

West Norwood Leisure Centre is now open.

Just in time for the summer holidays, local people can now enjoy a 25m pool and 100 station gym right on their doorstep and at affordable prices.

Soon a new GP surgery and dental school will open in the building too.

The project would not have happened without the efforts of Labour councillors in West Norwood. They began campaigning for a new leisure centre in 2008 and received huge support from local residents who helped gather thousands of petition signatures.

Despite attempts by local Tories to block the project, £14m funding was secured by Lambeth’s Labour council in 2010.

It’s the third new pool to open in Lambeth in the last three years after Labour promised a major expansion of sports and leisure facilities.
