Voters won't be fooled by fake Lib Dem Crossrail Campaign

Heartless nationally, hopeless locally, the Lib Dems have done it again.

Streatham Lib Dems have been fibbing again. Despite Lib Dem claims, Labour councillors have not voted against bringing Crossrail 2 to Streatham. In fact, there has never even been a vote on the subject.

Instead their own Lib Dem-Tory Government has decided to back a route which bypasses Streatham. Rather than mounting a fake campaign to blame Lambeth Council, they should be asking questions of their own ministers.

One of their councillors in Streatham Hill has said that he wants the Council to run a feasibility study on bringing Crossrail 2 to Streatham. But why should Lambeth taxpayers foot the bill for a study that should be done by the DfT?

Labour is committed to improving transport links in Streatham and has asked Council officers for more information on the benefits for Streatham residents.

Streatham Lib Dems have opposed everything Labour has done to improve Streatham – including new schools, our record investment in roads and pavements, and the new leisure centre and ice rink. Given their hopeless record, voters aren’t going to be fooled by this fake ‘campaign’ to bring Crossrail 2 nearer.
